...next Monday I go back to work. I've had mixed emotions about it. I know this time that when I go back, I'm only leaving my kids with someone else for 11 days (thankfully not in a row). So that makes me happy. I'm also excited to go back and do what I've done for the last 8 years.
But with the joy of going back, comes the "end of an era", as Rachel and Monica said of their time living together on FRIENDS :)
For the last 8 years I've worked along side one of my best friends. It didn't start out that way, and we've definitely had our struggles, but now I can truely say that she is one of my best friends and I'm going to miss seeing her 2 days a week. We've been there for each other through some difficult times; my mom getting sick and passing away, the birth of her premature baby (who is now a very healthy and vibrant 3 year old!), but we've also been there for the happy times, my wedding, the birth of all 4 of our kids (she was always one of the 1st people I told). So to say I'm going to miss her is a bit of an understatement.
The LORD knows I've had my problems with our head teller, but I think I'm actually going to miss him...maybe just a little. It might be because when it comes to sports, I like to think I know a little bit more about football than he does (thanks to my hubby!) (although Mike would readily disagree with me :) )
There are 5 total people in our office, but I don't think I've ever mentioned Ty. He's our loan officer and he hails from that state up north :(. He's good for a laugh or a question that gets you on the internet to find the answer before Mike :) He has always been good about going out to pick up my lunch when I asked him to, even though he might not want to. The thing I think I will miss most about Ty is seeing how involved he is with his daugthers sporting events year round. I think they play soccer, softball or have swim team just about every night of the week, every week of the year, and he's there for every single one of them.
There is 1 more person to mention. I won't miss my boss...I'll still see him twice a week at church! But I will say that he's the best boss I've ever worked for. It's been nice to be his go-fer ( ;) ), and to have someone who I've known for my entire life be there for me when things don't go the way I think they should have. He was there for me when my mom got sick, and I was there for him when Penny got sick. I hope that we can still be there for each other when needed even though we won't see each other as often.
When we were told in April that our office would be closing, I could have seen it coming from miles away. When people asked me back then "what will you do?" I hoped and prayed that I would be able to stay home with my kids, which is what I'm going to do. When people asked "are you sad that you won't be working here anymore?" I usually answered "no"...but now after looking at what I just typed about my 4 co-workers, I think I can say "yes, I will miss it very much". When you put aside all of our differences, I can honestly say that I will be sad when 5:30 on November 30th rolls around.
When I go back next Monday, I'm going in with gratitude. Gratitude that I've been able to be apart of this company and this "family" for the last 8 years and I'm going to live in the moments, because ready or not, the end will come too quickly.

1 month
Time goes fast. I shouldn't be surprised by it, because ever since Livi was born I've noticed how fast it goes, but sometimes it goes by so fast that I don't realize it!
Jackson is now a month and 2 days old. We went to his check up and he weighs 9lbs 13oz. His length is questionable...at the hospital he was 20.25 inches long. When we went to the Dr that following Monday, they measured him at 18.75...I seriously doubt he "shrunk" that much (I think the hospital is more on track). At 2 weeks he was "back" to 20.25 and today he was 20.5. I need to find my tape measure and do it myself, I swear he's longer than that. His head circumference is also a question mark, at 2 weeks it was off the charts, the doc said that the nurse input it wrong...no kidding. They better get it together soon!

Making the switch
I've had a blogger blog before, but didn't really like it, so I gave up on it and tried something else. I decided to come back and try it today, because everything I have is through google, so I thought this would be easier. Bear with me, I'm still trying to figure everything out :)
