I always see blog posts where mom's do a montly post about what their kids have done in the past month, and I like the idea. I'm going to start it now...I know I'm a little late :)
Jackson is on the move! It took him a while, but he's finally crawling. I may or may not have posted about this before, but I was worried about his mobility, because he didn't start rolling over until he was about 8 months old. Once he did start though, he went from belly-back/back-belly all within the same weekend. He also started Army-crawling the same weekend. It took him another month or so to start pulling himself up, but when we were at the beach he started that. Then within a couple of weeks he was crawling. Now he run-crawls (funniest thing to watch!) and he pulls up on EVERYTHING, I think he'll be walking very soon. Livi walked when she was a little over 11 months, so we'll see if Jackson does the same. He also gave up pureed food and now only eats small bits of whatever we eat. He LOVES baby goldfish crackers, pizza and hamburger helper :) He's a fruit eater, just like sissy, watermelon is probably his favorite. I just introduced grapes and he seems to like them. He looked like a little chipmunk this morning with 2-3 stuffed in his mouth :) When I weighed him last he was a little over 23 lbs and was 30 inches tall! He now has 6 teeth, 3 fully in on the top with 1 almost there, and 2 on the bottom. He doesn't like it when I forget to put his necklace on in the morning, and neither do I...it means he will be a cranky butt! So we don't forget anymore! He loves splashing in water, whether it's in the pool or the tub, so we've spent a lot of time in the pool. I love this stage, his personality is really showing. He says "mamam" "dada" "no" and "diga-diga"...not sure what that last one is, but its hilarious.
I find it very hard to believe that on Wednesday, Jackson will be 11 months old...I'm also finding that when I think about him being 1, I don't get as weepy as I did with Livi. After she was born, I found myself crying all the time that she had turned 1 week, then 2, then 2 months, and so on...maybe it's because he's #2? I don't know, I'm kinda glad though, because I already cry enough as it is!
I also have 1 month to finish planning the birthday party! I think for the next few years we'll be able to get away with a combined party, so while I can save money on it I will. This year I'm doing a Mickey/Minnie theme. I decided against all the decor with their faces though...Minnie now is wearing pink, and I like her with red. So after seeing a few things on pinterest in black and red, with other Mickey or Minnie things thrown in, that's what I'm doing. I found that I spent WAY less on plain colored decor than I would have if I had gotten anything else. It's so much easier that way! I'm excited for a few of the projects I want to do for the party too, but I'll share about those later.
Livi is almost 35 months old...that's even crazier. Do I really have an almost 3 year old?! She continues to test my patience by the minute :) She loves helping Jackson with things, and she loves picking on him. What big sister doesn't? Her newest favorite thing is Doc McStuffins. She knows the songs and sings them all day long. I hear her in her room giving "check ups" to her animals and dolls, it makes me laugh every time! I decided that she would be Doc for Halloween...all I have to do is make a white lab coat. I'm having trouble finding a pattern though. I'm also have the hardest time finding the doctor's bag. I have been kicking myself all week. Last Tuesday I found it, but thought "I'll wait, they'll still have it". The next day I went back and they were all gone. Ever since, NO ONE has it in stock. Toys R Us has it on their website, but it's not available for shipping. Target doesn't even have it on their site (at least they didn't the last time I checked). I think the only place I'm going to be able to get it from is the Disney Store, but I'll probably be better off just ordering it online. I hate to pay for shipping when I could get it from them, but the closest one is at Polaris, and that's about 30 minutes away. Anyway, I digress...um, yeah, Livi loves drawing outside with her chalk, on everything! She loves to run around in circles while Darby (the dog) chases her. She also loves to swing. We have walked to our park a lot recently and she never wants to go down the slides, only wants to swing.
Well, this was longer than I expected it to be, so I'm out. Time to start dinner!
